Celebrate the triumph of American spirit and artistry with Fanfare for the Common Man and Bernstein’s West Side Story Symphonic Dances! The program begins with Aaron Copland’s iconic Fanfare for the Common Man, followed by the South Carolina premiere of Turbulent Flames by Jessica Meyer. GSO Principal Clarinetist John Sadak shines in Copland’s lyrical Clarinet Concerto, and Carlos Simon’s Four Black American Dances sets the stage for the exhilarating West Side Story Symphonic Dances by Leonard Bernstein.
